Dating advice

ON DATING : I would like to start off the blogg with a bit of levity, and share some funny stuff that I have read in a book recently. Janice Dickenson wrote a very pithy and honest book about dating, called Mating, Dating and Extricating. It's all about her experiences as a single woman in the rather dodgy, glamourous world that she inhabits. But, she does give some great advice to the single ladies out there. For example, if you get an inkling that things are not working out well between you and your recently acquired blind date, and you just feel that there is not point going on... you learn to use these words... CHECK PLEASE (American spelling of course)

That means everything is over, and like the restaurant meal that you have just had, you tally up the damage and get to the bottom line and leave. These words might give you the strength to know when things are over.

Another pitfall that single women encounter is how to handle the sneaky philanderer. If the guy, whom you have just met in a checkout line in the grocery store, phones you to set up a date, but tells you honestly, that he is just TWO MINUTES away from being divorced, you say... GREAT, PHONE ME IN TWO MINUTES! and hang up.

Oh that is too funny!

I wish I had known the "check please" phrase when I was doing some dating years back! It would have been so much better than the "let's just be friends" standby!
